Event sign-in

The event sign-in sheet,
without the clipboard.

Guests sign in on a tablet at the door in a few seconds. Returning guests find their name after two letters, email addresses come out clean, and everyone lands on your list before the event is over.

What you get

Event sign-in with Pass the Pad

Any tablet becomes a sign-in kiosk

An iPad, an Android tablet or an old laptop. Pair it with a code, lock it to tonight's event and hand it to the door.

Returning guests in two taps

Type-ahead finds regulars after a couple of letters, so the line at the door keeps moving.

Clean email addresses

One-tap endings like @gmail.com and a typo check catch "gmial.com" before it reaches your list.

Works when the wifi doesn't

Sign-ins are kept safely on the tablet and upload on their own once it reconnects. Nothing is lost.

Phone sign-in by QR code

Busy night? Put a QR code by the door and guests sign in on their own phones, straight into the same event.

Your logo, colours and questions

Brand the screen, choose the fields, add a disclaimer and a thank-you message in your own words.

How it works

Ready in three steps.

  1. Make your event

Add it by hand, or connect your calendar's iCal feed (Google Calendar has one) and your events appear on their own.

  2. Pair a tablet

Open the sign-in page on any tablet, type the pairing code and it's ready for the door.

  3. Follow up

Opt-ins go to Mailchimp or your Pass the Pad list, and attendance is in Reports the moment people sign in.

Why clubs give up the paper sign-in sheet

A clipboard at the door looks free, but somebody has to type it all in afterwards: half-legible handwriting, guessed email addresses and the same regulars written down every week. Most of it never makes it onto the mailing list, and nobody can say how many people came in March.

A digital sign-in sheet fixes that at the source. Guests type their own details on a tablet, so names are spelled the way they spell them. Regulars tap their name instead of writing it again. New guests can join your mailing list with a tick, and the sign-ins are already counted, dated and tied to the event when the doors close.

Pass the Pad was built for real venues: library rooms, church halls, breweries and community centres where the wifi comes and goes. The tablet keeps working offline and catches up later, and as many tablets, events and volunteers as you need are included in one flat monthly price.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What do I need for event sign-in?

Any tablet with a web browser: an iPad, an Android tablet or a laptop. There's nothing to install. Open your sign-in page, enter the pairing code, and the tablet is ready.

Does the sign-in work without internet?

Yes. Once a tablet has loaded the sign-in screen it keeps working with no connection, stores sign-ins safely, and uploads them when the connection comes back.

Can guests sign in on their phones instead?

Yes. Turn on phone sign-in and show the QR code at the door. Guests scan it and sign in to the same event on their own phones.

Can we use more than one tablet at the same event?

Yes. Every plan includes unlimited tablets, events and door volunteers. Two tablets at the same door both count toward the same event.

Where do the sign-ins go?

Into your Pass the Pad contacts and Reports, and, if you connect it, straight into your Mailchimp audience with the tags you choose. You can export everything as a spreadsheet any time.
